Why does there always have to be another load...

Of laundry that is? Here I am up to half past midnight folding laundry and talking to myself about laundry! Where does it all come from? It is just crazy! When you think you are almost done-you look in the basket and see those boxers that have been next to the bed for a week that he finally decided to pick up and put them in the basket! You almost want to take them and put them back on the floor next to his side of the bed!(where they are not visible to the naked eye!lol!) Oh well it is a fact of life!
This week has been one of the most stressful weeks of my life. I never thought it would be so hard to give up a career. It is such a huge part of your life. I found myself at church this weekend just wanting to cry, and I did. I thought to myself, why? I am usually at work by that time and I guess it just hit me-I am jobless!! I have enjoyed the time at home but this week is going to be a big change, in routine that is! I have been working nights for 5 years and I am custom to being up at night. So, as you can imagine, I have gotten no sleep this week at all! Here it is almost 1am and I am up blogging, doing laundry and driving my husband crazy. Thank the Lord for him. I have not been the most pleasant person this week and he has been there by my side to hold my hand. At one point this week, I really felt as if no one cared about what went on in our lives. I guess they didn't realize how much it affected me-personally! It is Sunday night and I am feeling much better and looking forward to the upcoming weeks. Thank you for all the support given! Keep you posted!

Leap of Faith!

Well, as of today I am officially a stay-at-home mom! Johnathon and I have been praying for about a month about me staying at home with the kids. I mean come on there is only so long you have with them! So, I resigned from my position and I am giving everything to God. He has never failed us and never will. He has filled our cup up overflowing and we are so grateful! I have been asked by several people, how are you giving up your career to stay at home?! Don't you want to be able to provide them with much more than you had as a child?! The only thing I can say or respond to that is, these are the good times! Do you think that the Lord does not want you to have nice things and provide the quality of life that every person would dream of. A father will never let his children down. Granted, you may feel like there are things that you want and can not have but the reality is, you may not need it. He will never let any one of us down. He wants nothing but the best for His children. All I can say is if the Lord is convicting you to stay at home-DO IT! I was once told to sacrifice because obedience is far more important. Don't wait to long and be as miserable as I have been due to me not being obedient to God. You will feel such a relief and a weight lifted off of your shoulder. You will have patience that you thought you could never have. And HE will Provide. Have Faith and do it with a serving heart and the opportunities will be endless. I would much rather lose a shopping trip to Gap, than not be in His Will for my life. I know he has great plans for our life and look forward to see them in the near future!Let me not forget to thank my faithful/not worried husband.I, on the other hand, am very worried and scared! He is so wonderful to us! Thank you Lord for a strong man of God in my life. I need HIM!!LOL! The Lord loves to speak to me at 2am. Just thought I would let everyone know that.I will keep everyone posted on our status and keep us in your prayers! Pray for Peace over our Family! Thanks to everyone for your prayers and support! They are strongly welcomed! We Love You!

Mr. Chairman

When Mr.Kyle was elected for Alderman of Grosse Tete, Baylee thought that he was going to be a chairman. Let me define chairman in a 5 year old eyes- It went a little something like this. One afternoon Braden and Baylee were talking in the den, and Baylee tells Braden "Paw-Paw is going to be the new chairman in Grosse Tete. Braden responds, "What it do?" Baylee responds back "You know Braden, Paw-Paw is going to be a chairman like at church, when all the men pick up the chairs after church." Do you think we all nearly had a heart-attack laughing at this?!?!? It was so funny!

So, Paw-Paw Kyle is the official Chairman(Alderman) of Grosse Tete as of tonight. We are so very proud of him and know that he will do a wonderful job. Maw-Maw Belinda held the Bible for Paw-Paw when he was sworn in but Braden really wanted to hold Paw-Paw's Bible for him! Those kids are quite the MESS! I also put a picture of the cuties at the ceremony!

Out with the old and in with the New!

Well, this is my first blog of 2009. I know that 2009 will be just as prosperous as 2008 for the Booksh family. My cup runneth over...The Lord has blessed us incredibly this year. As I take a look back into 2008 this is what I remember:

1.Welcoming 2008 at the Juneau home with all our family. Johnathon and I both got new jobs.
2.Our yearly trip in March to Houston. We just love it there.
3.Our trip to Destin for Spring break in May.
4.Braden finished his first year of school. Baylee's 2nd Dance recital.
5.A very long summer but fun with the kids. Tons of activities with the Kleinpeters. Went to the Movie program all summer. Trips to the zoo and Busy Bee. Braden turns 3. Cheer Camp for Baylee. A couple of camping trips with Maw-Maw and Paw-Paw.
6.Baylee starts Pre-K.
7.Getting cooler, Boo at the zoo. Elmo Live.
8.Hurricane Gustav. To many people in one house!
8.Our wonderful trip to Arizona. Much time with the In-laws. Baylee turns 5.
9.Baylee and Braden's first Big Christmas Program at school together.
10.Spending Christmas with my family and enjoying all the fellowship the year has brought. Tons of trips to Maw-Maw Jarreau's. Most of all the Big snow in Louisiana.

Thank everyone for all your blogs and multiple emails back and forth. Thank you, Mr. Kyle and Mrs. Belinda for everything that you have done for us this year. From Babysitting to helping us put all those Christmas presents together, to being our Best Friends. We love you Both! My all time New Year's resolution is to Lose weight as always. So, I will be at the gym at work and try to do all the things that I do every year just maybe a little harder. I also want to make sure that we have as much time as a family as possible. We will keep all of you in our prayers as we would like you to keep us in yours. Love, The Booksh Bunch

Your Gonna Miss This!

I often think about that song that says "Your gonna miss this. Your gonna want this back. Your gonna wish these days, hadn't gone by so fast. These are the good times. Take a good look around." As I did the normal walk through(as every mom does), I went into my baby boy's room and he was cuddled up with his three favorite things. His mouse(Mousey), his monkey(from Uncle Chuck. He is kinda hiding under the covers in the picture!) and his turtle(T.J.). When I looked at him that song came to my mind and I cherish every moment spent with my kids. Whether it is good, bad or ugly. I could never get these days back. So, when I am feeling overwhelmed and wanting to take time with just my hubby and I, I think about how long we will have together and how long we will have with these kids. Every trip made with them and every zoo trip will be remembered far longer than anything! Trust me, I love our dates and everything but as Johnathon and I talk at dinner sometimes when we go out, we can not stop talking about our kids. They are just so wonderful to us and such a blessing from God. I remember when I had Baylee, I felt like a piece of my heart was ripped out and in her. I could never describe the love I have for my children. But the best, most selfless thing you will ever do is be a mother. Goodnite!

Children's Museum of Acadiana

I took the kids to the Children's Museum in Laffayette. It was a very nice museum. It was nothing like the one in Houston-but was still very fun. They were able to play like they were shopping in the grocery store, a dentist, a doctor, a weatherman, a hostess(Baylee just loved that).,

Then there was this BIG bubble area, where you lift this round bar over your body and you are inside of this huge bubble! I think that was Braden's favorite.
The kids really had a good time. We had the Kleinpeter crew with us also! I just think it is so fun for them to be able to do adult things but in a fun, filled child's world! Is is so nice for all these different companies to donate these exibits so that your child can have a fun, learning experience.

Holly Jolly Christmas

This Christmas was so fun. The kids are getting older and they know what they want. Baylee wanted a kitchen set, so that is what she got. We got her the stove, fridge, and sink. We also got her a little washer. You would have thought that the only present Santa brought her was that little washer. She loved it! She said "Mom, I have to go put a load on." We thought we would just die. She is growing up so fast!

Braden wanted a bike and a train table. So, that is what he received. He was so happy to see his new big boy bike when he woke up on Christmas morning. He also got a few little toy guns and stuff like that. So, the normal little boy in him was taking the gun and shooting the little men off of the train table. What am I going to do with him. Also, his Maw-Maw Lydia got him a big walking dino. He was so scared of it. He would cry every time he seen it in the store and even when he got it, he was still a little scared. Now he loves it and shows it off to everyone. His Paw-Paw Kyle got him a BIG gun. Literally, the size of his entire body. He just loves his big gun. He said " Now, I can shoot those deersss." What more would you expect out of a Southern Boy.The Lord has blessed us so much and we must not forget to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas-HIM. We hope everyone has had a Merry Christmas!
